Genbei Yamaguchi succeeded the tradition and technique of weaving and dying,and presents the work that reflects the world of today with innovative mind. Through the obi making, he explores what the nature in Japan has originally given to people, how Japanese has created their material culture, their idea and attitude behind it.
十代目である山口源兵衛は染め、織りの高い技術とともに伝統を受け継ぎ、「革新」の精神を持って今の時代を反映するような帯を発表しています。帯を通じて日本という土地が本来培ってきたもの、そこから生まれた風俗とそれを生んだ日本人の精神性を探究しています。
